This month at Scrapping Everyday Miracles we're having a Sketch Challenge based on this sketch designed by Tracey Gregory. Her style is a lot different than mine, so at first I was little worried on how I could make this work with my style. But then I just realized that if I used the basic shapes and placement, I could just apply my own clean & simple style to her layout and make it work.
This is what I came up with! The SCRAP TWIST was to use distressing. So instead of paper distressing (shown by Tracey in the sketch), I used ink distressing and inked around most of my shapes.
Love the new Ali Edwards stamps from Technique Tuesday that I was able to incorporate! And the fun bling from My Minds Eye.
The Main Challenge over at the Scrapping Everyday Miracles blog this month is "Home is Where the Heart Is". We're supposed to scrap about the place we call "home". And the scrap twist is to use a tag or journaling block.
I'm a mostly stay-at-home mom from Boise, Idaho. I have a wonderful husband, Peter, and a beautiful 10 year old daughter, Ellie. I enjoying volunteering at the elementary school, and serve as the PTO President as well.
I moved to the Boise area in 2002 (when I got married) from Eastern Washington (Spokane area), where I grew up.
I am a Christian and five years ago my family moved across town with five other families to help plant a church. I love having a wonderful, supportive church family nearby. Our missional community/small group serves the homeless of downtown Boise.
My favorite hobby is scrapbooking, although baking (mostly cookies) runs a close second.
When I'm not scrapping or baking, I love spending time with my family, going on walks with our black lab, Loretta, and watching romantic comedies.
