I made this layout for the Scrapping Everyday Miracles Design Team call. Since the team has now been announced, I thought I'd share it with you. It's from Ellie's 6th Birthday this past October.

A SEM Sketch Challenge...
Here's my take on Sketch Challenge #14 over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles.
The text says:
I bought this cute hat pattern and wanted to find some fabric so Mimi could make it for you. But you and I could not agree on anything..mostly because you think my taste in things is way uncool (and wow, you are just 5!). So when I was out shipping with Kaytie & Annie and saw this adorable fabric, I knew right away you would say you hated it. But then Annie had an idea...to tell you that she & Kaytie picked out the fabric. Brilliant! I brought the fabric home and told you...and guess what you said? "I LOVE it mom, it is soooo cute!" So...maybe, just maybe, I do still have some style? (wink;)). May 2011
We were supposed to also do some "fussy" cutting on the layout...so here's mine (the little flowers), close up.
I did this layout with a 6x6 paper pad (and some careful piecing) from My Mind's Eye that matched the hat fabric. It's funny because when I bought the fabric, I thought "this would make such cute patterned paper"...then, a few month's later on a trip to Craft Warehouse, I found this paper pad and was SO excited!

A Different Project...
Even though I love to scrap and make cards, I've really never considered myself too "crafty" beyond those things...but I was really challenged this past week, when Ellie's kindergarten class needed to decorate a box for recycling (actually "Terracycling" which takes things that typically aren't recycled like cereal bags, glue containers and candy wrappers---but our school does Terracycling and receives about 2 cents for each item sent in, so they've made it a big classroom project). Anyway...her class decided that they wanted to make a dog, and the teacher asked me to be in charge of making it happen (with all recycled products). This was definitely a challenge...but I have to say, I'm quite happy with the results. And the kids love it!
So, here's T.C. (stands for Terracycle) the WONDER dog...
he's a sheepdog/mutt!!!
I used newspaper, cardstock scraps, styrofoam plate, plastic lid, toilet paper roll (for tail), soup cans (for feet), and cardboard
The side view...check out the cut little tail!
Ellie loved the result too!
*Disclaimer-Ellie dressed herself...as "Pippi Longstocking" today (we're reading this to her this week).
I'm learning to pick my battles:o)

My Favorite Verses-and a New Design Team!
I'm super excited about just being chosen to be part of "Scrapping Everyday Miracles" new design team (this April through September). I found SEM because I started following Nicole Brenna's blog through a Faith Blog Hop (that our Craft Warehouse DT Leader Jen Evans was part of). So, a couple weeks ago I was looking at my google dashboard and saw a post from Nicole's blog talking about a new DT for SEM. When I went to SEM's blog and saw what the blog was all about (basically, including God in your scrapbooking...but she explains it much better on the SEM blog), I knew I would love to be part of it. So I submitted my application, and a couple days ago the new Design Team was chosen, and I'm really, really excited to be part of it!
These scripture tags were one of the projects I submitted...and I wanted to share them with you. These three verses are all ones that I truly treasure!
